Igualada, 4 April 1832
My very dear Sir,
I am very sorry to have to tire you regarding the matter of my esteemed brother, that for a small thing they have to make him go to the presidio. For I have already written to Don Joan Ferrer that they might buy out the few years of presidio that they have imposed on him, so that by staying to work in the factory it can all be paid off by giving a certain amount each week.
For I cannot do it, as I have spent all my poverty on one thing, and thus, by the Wounds of Jesus, do this charity, for my brother will be good. I repeat to you that between all of you, you should do this.
