To the Local School Inspector in Oeffingen
To the Most Honorable Grand Ducal School Inspectorate, Neuenburg
In response to Your Highly Esteemed Authority's letter of the 1st of the current month, requesting that a school-board meeting concerning school absences be held as soon as possible, indeed on a school day, it was announced in church on the 10th of this month that the meeting would be held in the schoolhouse on the 12th at 9:30 a.m. Since a meeting had also been held on the 11th, notice of the meeting to be held on the 12th was given at that meeting.
The undersigned waited from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m., but only one member, Joh. Mayer, appeared.
It is therefore reported to Your Esteemed Authority that no further meeting regarding the above matter will take place; and should Your Esteemed Authority kindly wish [then/therefore?] to address me at greater length concerning the school matter, it may do so. If anything is to be done, an inquiry must be directed to the local office.
