In dem Markte St Johann in
Salzburg hat am 31. Mai l.J. ein Feu
erausbruch während eines furchtba
ren Orkanes binnen wenigen Stunden
50. Wohnhäuser und eben so viele Wirth
schaftsgebäude, so wie auch die alter
thümliche Kirche, eine Zierde des Mark
tes sammt ihren Kostpapieren einge
äschert, wodurch ein Schade von mehr
als einer halben Milion Gulden C.M.
verursacht worden ist.
Die von diesem Unglücke betroffenen
Bewohner des Marktes, brot und ob
dachlos geworden, sehen sich und ihre
Angehörigen an die Hülfe und Unter
stützung edler mildthätiger Menschen
gewiesen.
Das h. Ministerium des Innern fühlt
sich durch das große Unglück, welches
diesen vor Kurzem blühenden Markt
und dessen fleißige Bewohner getrof
fen hat, veranlaßt, für dieselben eine
allgemeine Samlung milder Gaben
zu gestatten. Indem unter Einem der
diesfällige Aufruf an die Bewoh
ner Mährens mittelst der Landeszei
tung ergeht, wird das K.K. Bezirksamt
in Folge h. Statthalterei Erlasses vom
2. l. Mts Z. 16835 aufgefordert, bei den
Dekanats und Gemeinde Vorständen

In the market town of St. Johann in Salzburg, on May 31 of this year, a fire broke out during a terrible hurricane, and within a few hours reduced 50 residential houses and just as many farm buildings, as well as the ancient church, an ornament of the market town, together with its valuable papers, to ashes, causing damage of more than half a million florins C.M.
The inhabitants of the market town affected by this misfortune, having become breadless and homeless, find themselves and their relatives dependent on the help and support of noble, charitable people.
The honorable Ministry of the Interior feels itself, through the great misfortune which
has struck this recently flourishing market town and its industrious inhabitants, induced to permit a general collection of charitable gifts for them. While at the same time the relevant appeal to the inhabitants of Moravia is issued by means of the provincial newspaper, the I.R. District Office is requested, in consequence of the honorable Lieutenancy decree of the 2nd of this month No. 16835, to arrange with the deanery and municipal boards
