Reverend and Venerable in Christ, Father Subprior! Through the carter Urban, who is departing from here tomorrow, please receive a small box with surgical instruments, which are to be handed over to the known tool-smith or instrument maker, so that he may repair and improve them as agreed with him. dear Brother Arsenius, who has a polyp in his nose, and is full of worry and melancholy about it. If the two boys at the local Mr. Preacher's are not so, they could well be sent over exchanged, whereafter the old boys would be sent on account. Also the dust coat, which the Venerable Father Prior kindly lent me for the journey, is being brought over by Urban. Please report my thanksgiving to the Venerable Father Prior here, along with my most devoted recommendation, and that I would have done better if I had borrowed a good fur coat from him, because of the great cold that I had to endure. The small box can, Venerable Father, please be put to use again from here, because other things are with it
