La Réunion complette de toute ma famille, Mon cher Auguste, a
donné une forte accolade à mon petit caveau de réserve : J'ai des
Dijonnais qui boivent bien et bon. J'avais espéré recevoir le
panier annoncé par votre lettre du 27 mai dr., la promesse où je me
trouve m'engage à recourir à vos soins et à votre amitié. Surtout
Veuillez accélérer cet envoi.
Puisque vous ne m'avez pas envoyé non plus
la Moutarde, J'y renonce et attendrai l'année p.aine
Donnez moi quelques renseignemens sur
votre récolte, votre opinion sur les 1827 leur prix dans le vignoble ?
comment se fixera-t-on ? Je me mettrai de bonne heure en voyage
Je compte donc sur la plus grande exactitude à m'adresser un tarif
de prix Ct.
Nous sommes en pleine Vendange, elle
sera d'un 1/4 environ moindre que la dernière, peu de qualité et
point dans tous les vignobles mal exposés. Les 1827 montent un
peu, ils sortent du vil prix où ils étoient restés toute l'année.

My dear Auguste,
The gathering of my entire family has made a considerable dent in my small reserve cellar. I have several people here from Dijon who drink a great deal, and drink good wine.
I had hoped to receive the basket announced in your letter of 27 May; the promise I have made obliges me to rely on your care and friendship. Above all, please hasten this shipment.
Since you did not send me the mustard either, I give up on it and will wait for next year.
Give me some news of your harvest, your opinion of the 1827 vintage, and its price at the vineyard. How are prices likely to settle? I shall set out on my journey soon. I therefore rely on you to send me a current price list with the greatest accuracy.
We are in the middle of the grape harvest. The yield will be about a quarter smaller than last time, the quality will be poor, and vineyards with an unfavourable exposure will produce nothing at all. Wines of the 1827 vintage are rising a little; they are emerging from the miserable price at which they remained throughout the year.
Farewell, my good friend. Present my respectful regards to Madame Poutet, and remember me to Blandin.
