To the Gentlemen members of the Council of the Civil and military hospital of Pontarlier; has the honour to submit to you Gentlemen,
Jean Baptiste Perrin, adult bachelor, Soldier returned to his home with his discharge from the 19th Light Infantry Regiment, had the advantage, being a soldier, of being treated in this hospital, and of seeing the Good organisation and the running of this House
that he would desire to spend the rest of his life there, working, and to willingly make the sacrifice of my small fortune.
It is with this intention that he has the honour of addressing the present to you, hoping gentlemen that you will be so good as to have the kindness to give me an answer.
I will let you know the amount of my small fortune; see the Hospitaller sisters, they will perhaps remember me upon seeing my name;
I am meanwhile your very humble servant
