Because of the confidence I place in your firm, I am writing to ask you to send me 200 litres of good-quality absinthe.
I run the Café de la Poste and wish to enter into business relations with your firm. I should like to receive the favourable terms you offer for payment.
If you require references concerning me, you need only enquire in our town of any merchant or employee, or at the town hall where I am employed. Do not hesitate to write to whomever you choose, but please do so immediately; otherwise I shall apply elsewhere.
