Messieurs L. Noilly & Cie, négts, Marseille

Par ordre que nous avons donné à notre voyageur M. Février,
vous nous avez expédié une pipe d'absinthe vers la fin du
mois de mai dernier, à Oran. Par le même courrier nous vous
prévenions que vous fourniriez sur nous au 10 Xbre prochain ; nous
avions prié M. Février de s'y faire changer de décision, attendu
que nous ne pouvions pas lui fixer le lieu de notre domicile
à l'échéance.

Après ces souvenirs pour éclaircir la chose, je vous annonce
que nous avons succédé à M. A. Lignières à Oran, mais
que, pressés par les affaires un peu compliquées qu'il y
laisse, nous vous prions d'adresser un mandat au domicile
de M. J. Lignières fils à La Nouvelle près Narbonne
et de le retarder jusqu'au 15 Xbre afin que nous
puissions y faire parvenir les fonds par le courrier
du 10.

Vous recevrez sous peu de jours la circulaire de la
nouvelle maison que nous organisons en ce moment
sur les bases de l'ancienne ; et nous vous fixerons alors
sur notre raison commerciale définitive.

Nous avons bien l'honneur de vous saluer.

P. S. Nous avons reçu votre lettre du 23 7bre qui s'adresse à
M. A. Lignières ; la disposition qu'il lui fera sera par nous
payée pour le compte de ce dernier.

Messrs L. Noilly & Cie, merchants, Marseille

On the order we gave our commercial traveller, Mr Février, you shipped us a pipe of absinthe to Oran towards the end of last May. By the same mail we informed you that you would draw on us with a due date of December 10; we had asked Mr Février to have this arrangement changed because we could not tell him where our place of payment would be when it fell due.

Having recalled these facts to clarify the matter, I inform you that we have succeeded Mr A. Lignières in Oran. However, being occupied by the somewhat complicated affairs he leaves there, we ask you to address a draft to the domicile of Mr J. Lignières fils at La Nouvelle near Narbonne and to defer it until December 15, so that we can send the funds there by the mail of the 10th.

In a few days you will receive the circular of the new firm we are now organising on the basis of the old one; we shall then inform you of our definitive business name.

We have the honour to salute you.
