Lieber Herr College!
Ich muß Ihnen ein Geständniß machen, das Ihnen nicht lieb sein
wird: die Schuld ist zum Theile auch an Ihnen. Da wir
vor einiger Zeit übereinkamen, daß ich die [illegible] Intervention
besorgen sollte, so blieb dieses Paket in mei-
nen Vormerkungen unter anderen Schriften stecken
und bis in diese Woche unpräparirt liegen.
Ihre Schuld ist es darin, daß Sie auf dem Couvert die
so wichtige Bezeichnung „Recursfrist eilig“ nicht
beigesetzt haben, wodurch meine Kanzley aufmerksam
geworden wäre. – Da nun aber einmal
der Schaden geschehen, [illegible] ich das Paket [illegible] und
mit dieser Entschuldigung überreicht. Ich sage es Ihnen,
daß die Abweisung direkt nicht erfolgen, sondern
daß Auflagen am Jud. abverlangt werden.

Dear Colleague!
I must make a confession to you that will not please you: the fault is partly yours as well. Since we agreed some time ago that I should deal with the intervention, this packet became stuck among other documents in my records and lay unprepared until this week.
Your fault in this is that you did not add the so important notation “appeal deadline – urgent” to the envelope, which would have drawn my office's attention. Since the damage has now been done, I submitted the packet with this explanation. I can tell you that the rejection will not occur directly, but rather that supplements will be requested.

Erkenntniß nicht in Mitte liegt, kann die Einrede noch
immer gültig eingereicht werden. Ich halte dafür, daß
Sie mindest ein volles Monat zur Einbringung der
Einrede Zeit haben.
Mit heutigem Postwagen hab ich Ihnen die
Akten, die ich besaß, gesendet; alle übrigen Legi-
timationsbehelfe liegen bei dem mähr. Jud.
Übrigens werde ich Ihnen nächst noch die
weitern Auskünfte in dieser Inzidenzsache mittheilen.
Kratochwila hat bisher 20 fl darauf erlegt, u.
verspricht monatlich mit 5 fl fortzufahren; er will
jedoch einen Nachlaß, den ihm Rehne auf jede Rate
zugesichert hat, weil der Wechsel so nicht in der Aus-
[illegible] sei, daß der erste [illegible] nicht dem recht-
mäßigen Inhaber [illegible]. Beide möchte [illegible] Krato-
solange ich nicht das Resultat eines andern ähnlich
gegen ihn anhängigen Streites weiß; er ist
überaus voll der schönsten Versprechungen, die aber
nicht fließen.

I sent you the files I had by today's mail coach; all the other documents proving authority are at the Moravian court. I shall shortly send you further information in this incidental matter.
Kratochwila has so far paid 20 florins towards this, and promises to continue with 5 florins monthly; however, he wants a reduction, which Rehne assured him on each instalment. [Part of the sentence is illegible.]
… until I know the result of another similar dispute pending against him. He is exceedingly full of the finest promises, from which, however, nothing flows.
