Gentlemen,

Having announced prices on the 18th current, [uncertain passage concerning the state of the river and transport to Châtellerault]. We are very eager to learn that they have arrived at Châtellerault. We have just received the six pieces of old eau-de-vie, with whose quality we are very satisfied. Please send us at once a pipe of old eau-de-vie aged eighteen to twenty years, which you had set aside for us. Try to let us have it at 16 or 17; if you cannot, invoice it to us at 18. We leave this to your judgment, but hope you will put it at 17 at most. Please dispatch it as soon as possible, as we are in haste. Greetings; we are, brothers, Vve Gruet & Pitte.
