Leith 29th January 1852
Messrs James Hennessy & Co,
Cognac, Dear Sirs,
I last addressed you 25th Ulto and 16th Inst. I wrote
your Mr Augustus Hennessy, 10 Rue de la Concorde, St Honoré,
Paris, yesterday, advising my having debited you 20th Inst
£55.13/- paid Revd Berkeley Addison, for account of Mr
Maurice Hennessy, whom I had the pleasure of seeing yesterday,
all well.
Please ship per first vessel to Leith for,
James Balfour Esqr,
Wine Co of Scotland, } Edinburgh,
2 Hhds pale Brandy at f110 — same as last per
Cairngorum — about 4% Under Proof.
The Rhine Gem are still discharging — tomorrow I expect
to forward per Railway under bond the 2 Hhds for Gibb & Bruce
for which I shall draw on them at 3 months @ 13/- per Gallon
in Glasgow. The Urania has sailed for Charente to take
the berth for Leith —
