J'ai sous les yeux la lettre dont vous venez
de m'honorer, à la qu'elle je m'empresse de répondre
Selon vos désirs, je vous expédierai par prémier
Navire en partance pour chez vous, les deux pièces
eaudevie Nouvelle dont il s'agit, au prix de f. 125
les 27 veltes à 21 = 1/2, rendues sous vergues et parentes
quittes de tous frais.
Je crois devoir vous observer, que voulant
vous bien servir, c'est à dire en spiritueux de
prémier choix, de même que le conditionnement de
la futaille, je me contente du plus modique
bénéfice, dans l'espoir ou je suis que cette
prémière affaire nous conduira à de plus

Mr. Clomann, Bordeaux.

I have before me the letter with which you have just
honored me, to which I hasten to reply
According to your wishes, I will ship to you by the first
Ship departing for your place, the two pieces of
New brandy in question, at the price of f. 125
per 27 veltes at 21 = 1/2, delivered under yards and related
free of all charges.
I believe I must observe to you, that wanting
to serve you well, that is to say in spirits of
first choice, as well as the conditioning of
the cask, I content myself with the most modest
profit, in the hope where I am that this
first business will lead us to more
major ones in the future; Please, Sir, receive
the assurance, that always, you will have reason to be
satisfied with the shipments that I will be able
to make to you, having imposed on myself the obligation to treat
my principals as I would like to be
