nous notons les Clauses de l'affrettement de la

Cognac, October 30, 1816.

Messieurs Ranson Delamain & Co. in Jarnac

We reply, gentlemen, to the letter you did us the honor of writing to us on the 29th of this month.
The eaux-de-vie that we have to supply to the Sarah for Bristol are ready, we will dispatch them at the end of this week or the beginning of the next. If you had told us when you expect to send yours, we could have given you a more positive date; for we will not hide from you that we would be sorry if our goods were on board for a long time before those of the other shippers.
We note the clauses of the chartering of the Sarah, but you forgot to tell us the number of lay days for loading at Charente. This becomes, however, quite indifferent since there will be no reason to use them all.
We present to you, gentlemen, our sincere greetings,
Frs. Martell, p. & G. Martell
