qui s'est croisée avec votre amicale du 31 aout.
Vous trouverez ci-inclus une 2e de change s'élevant à
Fcs 5,175. pour vous servir en cas d'urgence.
L'or semble être à la baisse, aussi nos amis remettent de
jour en jour leurs remises. Le mois d'octobre sera sans
doute le mois le plus propice, car l'administration
pèsera de tout son poids pour donner à chaque
chose une apparance favorable, date l'élection présidentielle
se fera le 4 nov. Je crois que la lutte sera très
vive entre Lincoln & McClellan et il est bien difficile
de dire qui l'emportera.

I confirm to you, Gentlemen, my letter of 13 Sept
which crossed with your friendly one of 31 August.
You will find enclosed a 2nd of exchange amounting to
Fcs 5,175. to serve you in case of emergency.
Gold seems to be falling, so our friends are putting off
their remittances from day to day. The month of October will doubtless
be the most propitious month, for the administration
will throw all its weight into giving everything
a favorable appearance, given the presidential election
will take place on 4 Nov. I believe the struggle will be very
lively between Lincoln & McClellan and it is very difficult
to say who will win.
