fachés que vous ne nous ayez pas economisé l'assurance

We reply, Gentlemen, to your honored letter of the 13th inst. We fully intended to invoice you at 5/50 on board here and not at Bordeaux for the 12/2 pieces of brandy that we dispatched to you by the Eugenie, but since you do not understand it thus, we will not insist on this point of little importance - we are only sorry that you did not save us the insurance that we would not have had covered - To cover ourselves for the amount of our invoice thus reduced we are drawing on you today a draft for f 2493. at 10 days from date - Please honor it.
We will see with great pleasure, Gentlemen, that this little trial engages you to entrust us with more important orders. Count on us always giving the greatest care to their execution, and please accept our very cordial greetings
