Dear Sirs
Referring to my last respects on
the 30/31 Ulto p Hibernia, I beg now to wait on you with the second
of the bills remitted for acceptance to Mess O de Marcuard & Co, for
Fr 15000 & f 7469 49, to serve if needful.
I have this morning been favor'd with the Original of your letter
5 Jany p Waban, which vessels has at last arrived in safety. None
of the others have come in yet.
Mess John Caswell & Co have scarcely a Cask of your Brandy left
and regret that by waiting so long for the arrival of the Mage you
have kept them out the needful and expected supplies. This Compels
them to purchase other Brandies here for their Customers, some Hennessy
a few days ago, much to the prejudice of yours. The wind has been
favorable for some days, which brought us dates from Liverpool, by sailing
packets, up to the 6 Ulto, and it is to be hoped that either the Mary Ann
or the Hope will shortly be here and put Mess J Caswell & Co in stock
New Brandies Continues in demand; the older Vintages are very
dull. Mess Renauld & françois have only sold a few half Pipes as yet
out of their purchase p Jorne, which Consequently turns out a very poor
business for them.
