J'ai reçu dans son tems le paquet de linge que tu m'as envoyé
je t'en remercie ainsi que du bon tricot que tu as eu la bonté
de m'achetter, j'ai appris avec plaisir que tu avais été contente de
ton achat. J'attends françois dimanche matin - mais recommande lui de
venir frapper à ma porte à quelle heure que ce soit qu'il arrive
et de ne pas faire comme la dernière fois. je suis content d'apprendre
que vous vous portiez bien. Charles [illegible] est très bien dans [illegible]
il va régulièrement à ses différens cours
dans sa chambre

My very dear mother

I received in due time the parcel of linen that you sent me; I thank you for it, as well as for the good knitwear that you had the kindness to buy for me. I was pleased to learn that you were satisfied with your purchase. I expect François on Sunday morning - but advise him to come and knock on my door at whatever hour he arrives and not to do as he did the last time. I am glad to learn that you are well. Charles [illegible] is very well in [illegible] he goes regularly to his various classes in his room.

Farewell, I kiss you, as well as father, François, and Elisabeth.
