nouvelles, continue a te bien menager e ne prends davantag
de nourriture que sur guerison, e Cesse des que tu l'en sent fatigue
Je suis faché d'aprendre que ta Place de Paris s'en
vacant lui manque mais il ne faut pas s'en tourment[...]
je ne Crois pas devoir ecrire de nouveau a Mr de moute[...]
vu ou voudrait je le Crois le faire Travailler sans dien
Suivant l'usage des Lyonnais. Il ne faut pas s'en Tourmenter
ton fils trouvera bien à se Placer Soit a Paris soit a Lyon
avant qu'il Parte de francfort, nous d'accellerons j'espere a la
Maison e je voudrais qu'il s'alla sans Paris, je lui
donnerai une Lettre d'un fourat, qui le presentera dans

Voiron, 30 November 1840

I thank you, dear brother, for having given me your news; continue to take good care of yourself and do not take more food until you are cured, and stop as soon as you feel tired.
I am sorry to learn that the position in Paris being vacant is lacking to him, but one must not torment oneself over it. I do not think I should write again to Mr. de Moute[...], seeing where they would want, I believe, to make him work without anything, following the custom of the Lyonnais. One must not torment oneself over it, your son will easily find a place either in Paris or in Lyon before he leaves Frankfurt; we will speed it up, I hope, at the house and I would like him to go without Paris. I will give him a letter from a Fourat, who will introduce him in some houses. Fourat has not yet answered me, which proves to me that he is taking care of it.
I have debited your account 500 f that you owed Messrs Duret & Chomel.
I credit it 10 f. which I ask you to count to the mother of Antoinette Moudin of St. Marcel. Try to have her told to come and look for them or to have them paid to her by the Montgolfiers.
Farewell, I am very busy; apart from some colds we are quite well.
