J'ai bien mon cher ami le murier
que tu m'as adressé je t'en Remercie
il sera a dans le bosquet ycelle a l'air de
la botanie c'est fort joli.
J'ai apris par frachon que tu allais mieux
& surtout que tu engraissais ce qui était
une preuve certaine d'une amelioration dans
ton état. Prends courage, menage toi bien
& au Printemps viens te reposer ici de tous
tes soucis, je persiste à croire que tu t'en trouveras
bien.
on ne nous a pas communiqué le mariage de Melle
Elie qui est cependant ma filleule, ce mariage m'etonne
beaucoup.
C'est aujourd'hui foire, je suis tres occupé, la mienne
est en voyage ainsi que Pochoy & signourey, les
affaires sont bien difficiles & bien penibles dans notre
partie.
Ci joint une lettre de ton françois qui te fera Plaisir
adieu je t'embrasse tous

Voiron the 28th of February 1838

I indeed have, my dear friend, the mulberry tree
that you sent me, I thank you for it
it will be in the grove, this one looks like
botany, it is very pretty.
I learned from Frachon that you were doing better
and especially that you were gaining weight which was
a certain proof of an improvement in
your condition. Take courage, take good care of yourself
and in the Spring come rest here from all
your worries, I persist in believing that you will find yourself
well.
we were not informed of the marriage of Miss
Elie who is nevertheless my goddaughter, this marriage surprises me
a lot.
Today is fair day, I am very busy, mine [my wife]
is traveling as well as Pochoy & Signourey, business
is very difficult and very painful in our
industry.
Enclosed a letter from your François which will bring you pleasure
