Je te remets ci joint une lettre du maire
de voiron p.r le maire d’annonay par laquelle il lui annonce
qu eugene est porté ici sur la liste de conscrit.

En remettant cette lettre au maire d'annonay
Demande lui sil rayera eugene de la liste
annonay I sil peut tirer decidement ici
Ds que nous en aurons la certitude nous le ferons
assurer ici ainsi ecrit moi le plutot que tu saura
car il seroit desagréable qu'eugene tira ici
I qu'on tira pour lui a annonay. Il faut donc
etre bien certain qu'on ne fora pas tirer eugene
a annonay.

Voiron, 15 February 1839

My dear brother,

I am sending you herewith a letter from the mayor
of Voiron for the mayor of Annonay, by which he informs him
that Eugene is entered here on the list of conscripts.
And that he will draw for conscription here.

When handing this letter to the mayor of Annonay,
Ask him if he will cross Eugene off the list of
Annonay and if he can definitively draw here.
As soon as we are certain of it, we will have him
insured here, so write to me as soon as you know,
for it would be unpleasant if Eugene drew here
and they drew for him at Annonay. It is therefore necessary
to be quite certain that they will not make Eugene draw
at Annonay.

I was purged today, tomorrow I will have
the same treat again. I hope this will rid me of it.

It is generally believed that Mr. Sapey will be
named Deputy here. Would Mr. Tavernier have the same
advantage? Does Seguin the elder have a chance? Tell me.

If the wood you bought for me is 1 or 2 inches
shorter they can be useful to me, because they were
requested from you at 6 feet 6 inches and I only need 6 feet 3 eighths,
but if they are less thick, that is to say if their diameter
at the small end is less than the one indicated, they will not be able
to be useful to me.
