Je suis de retour avec fanny depuis le 23 c.t
j'ai laissé victor a Sa Soeur encore quelques jours
Elle me la demandé, & je n'ai pas voulu lui refuser
ce Plaisir. notre Separation a eté bien Sensible
Pour tous comme tu le penses, cependant Laure est
contente, elle a un bon mari
charles vint passer avec nous les fetes de la
Pentecote Sa visite nous a fait a tous grand Plaisir
j'étais allé le voir avec victor la veille. il l'avait
engagé a venir.
J'ai reçu des nouvelles de vincent. du 6 c.t il
Me félicite sur le mariage de Laure que je lui avait
annoncé. il va bien
as tu des nouvelles de françois, J'espere qu'il continue
a aller Mieux. J'ai ecrit a M.r Sapey hier pour
le Prier de s'entendre avec m.r Boissy d'anglas & de lui
obtenir un congé de convalescence.
fais mes amitiés a Lucie dis lui que J'ai reçu
avant hier une lettre de Louis. il va bien

My good brother,
I have been back with Fanny since the 23rd of this month. I left Victor with his sister for a few more days. She asked me to, and I did not want to refuse her this pleasure. Our separation was very deeply felt by everyone, as you can imagine; however, Laure is happy, she has a good husband. Charles came to spend the Pentecost holidays with us; his visit brought great pleasure to all of us. I had gone to see him with Victor the day before. He had urged him to come.
I received news from Vincent. On the 6th of this month, he congratulated me on Laure's marriage, which I had announced to him. He is doing well.
Do you have any news of François? I hope he continues to get better. I wrote to Mr. Sapey yesterday to ask him to coordinate with Mr. Boissy d'Anglas and obtain a convalescence leave for him.
Give my regards to Lucie, tell her that I received a letter from Louis the day before yesterday. He is doing well.

Je ne t'ai pas remercié Mon cher ami du beau
cadeau que tu as fait a ma fille. je t'en sais bien

donnes & dont elle ne doutais pas. mais j'aurais voulu
que tu en eus fait moins de frais c'est trop beau.

Do me the favor of having sent to Madame Maniquet, widow at Les Flaches in Rive-de-Gier, 20 kg of size 6 candles by the pound, 10 kg ditto of size 4 by the pound. You will kindly write to Laure to announce this to them and give her the invoice which she will hand over to her mother-in-law, and you will give me, I beg you, a note so that I may credit the account of Messrs Duret & Chomel who will kindly pay themselves from those of L'embarjas.
I did not thank you, my dear friend, for the beautiful gift you gave my daughter. I am very grateful for the friendship and the mark of friendship you give her and which she did not doubt. But I would have liked you to have gone to less expense for it, it is too beautiful.
Expecting to have the pleasure of seeing you here at the wedding, Laure had bought a dress for her niece. I will send it to her at the first opportunity; kiss her well for this little one and give me news of her.
Farewell, my good brother. We are very isolated; Laure's absence creates a great void in the house and takes away all its charm. I feel that you will not forget us [and] hope you will come as soon as you can. Or in any case come spend a good amount of time. Farewell, I kiss you as well as Babete.
