Mon cher frere

Je recois une lettre d'aug[us]te Mignot montgolfier qui me dit
qu'on veut te livrer les bois de pain d'un pouce 1/2 a 2 pouces de diametre
moins grand que je ne te les ai demandés et que tu les as achetés.
Je m'empresse de te dire qu'il me les faut au moins du diametre
que je te les ai demandés et au petit bout. S'ils étaient moins gros ils
ne sauraient servir c'est pour faire des rouleaux dont il ne
m'est pas permis de diminuer le diametre. ainsi envoie moi ceux qui
sont dans la grosseur indiquée. tu m'adresseras les autres plus tard

Eugene Canson m'écrit qu'il viendra mecredi ici pr
la conscription ici ou nous allons le faire assurer. ainsi previens le maire
de ne pas le porter a annonay. des qu'il sera porté ici je ferai ecrire au
maire d'annonay sur le maire d'annonay pour lui confirmer cette
inscription si tu le juge nécessaire . nous ferons assurer eugene ici par
un homme qui a dequoi repondre et nous lui eviterons beaucoup d'embarras.
Je vais asses bien aujourd'hui. hier je fis une promenade aujourd'hui
qu'il fait froid je ne sortirai pas. Lafumat est arrivé hier, je serai un
peu soulagé dans mes occupations.

Voiron the 11th of August 1839

My dear brother

I receive a letter from Auguste Mignot Montgolfier who tells me
that they want to deliver you the pine wood of one and 1/2 inch to 2 inches in diameter
smaller than I had asked you for them and than you bought them.
I hasten to tell you that I need them at least of the diameter
that I asked you for them and at the small end. If they were less thick they
would not be able to be used it is to make rollers of which it is not
permitted for me to decrease the diameter. so send me those which
are in the indicated thickness. you will address the others to me later
Sorry for the trouble.
Eugene Canson writes me that he will come here Wednesday for
the conscription here where we are going to have him insured. so warn the mayor
not to list him in Annonay. as soon as he is listed here I will have written to the
mayor of Annonay on the mayor of Annonay to confirm to him this
enrollment if you judge it necessary. we will have Eugene insured here by
a man who has the means to answer for it and we will save him a lot of trouble.
I am doing well enough today. yesterday I took a walk today
that it is cold I will not go out. Lafumat arrived yesterday, I will be a
little relieved in my occupations.
