Ci-joint une lettre que j'ai reçue hier soir après le départ du courrier; tu la communiqueras à la famille.

J'en joins une autre du 6. Tu verras que les 3 000 f ont bien été comptés à M. Abertat pour payer [un billet lié à Eugène et à l'achat d'un violon]. [Le passage qui distingue une somme de 3 000 f d'une dette ou d'un billet de 1 500 f est partiellement illisible.]

Tu verras ce qu'on s'occupe de lui à Grenoble. Dis-moi [passage indistinct concernant de l'argent pris sans mon autorisation].

Voiron, 8 June 1839

Enclosed is a letter that I received yesterday evening after the mail had left; you will show it to the family.

I also enclose another letter dated the 6th. You will see that the 3,000 francs were indeed paid to Mr Abertat to settle [a note connected with Eugène and the purchase of a violin]. [The clause distinguishing the 3,000 francs from a debt or note of 1,500 francs is partly illegible.]

You will see what is being done about him in Grenoble. Tell me [indistinct passage concerning money taken without my authorization].
