Letter from Frachon Dugas to Jn Marie Frachon, 1840-05-06

J'ai apris par Massis que v/ etes arrivé à 8 heure
à marseillole en bonne santé ce qui me fait croire qu'à
3 heure v/ etiez rendu chese v/ = bien content de
retrouver votre pré, et moi bien triste de vous avoir
vu partir si vite.
d'aprés ce que me dit mon frere v/ n'auré trouvé
v/ murier bien avancé. j'espere que v/ feré arrivé
à tems, p.r mettre d/ vert et que tout ira bien
je me trouvat debité de 500 f. que je lui devais pour
annonay m.r de bonfoureu sera son avis de dicy[?]
pour débébour[?] ton c.te du colun du durele [?] ce
qu'il lui divait[?].
pour obliger un maitre de pension d'ici je te donne
ce joind un m.t de 118 f. protesté montant avec les frais
de protêt et retours à 128 f.
ce m.t a été tiré sur chataneon fils qui étoit
professeur à Cremieuy qu'il quita avant la présantation
de ce m.t. disant qu'il alloit à annonay. fais moi le
plaisir de présanter ce m.t à chataneon fils et s'il ne payoit pas
tache de le faire payer par son pere ou tout au moins de
lui faire accepter ce m.t pour payer à une echéance la
plus raprochée possible. il demeure près de l'école des freres à annonay.
ce jeune chataneon étoit frere ici de l'école chretienne
il se lassa de cette profession et s'attacha sans rien dire a ses
superieurs a une pension d'ici pour y enseigner a ecrire, c'étoit
tout sur le maitre de pension lui fit l'avance pour s'habiller
puisqu'il ne devoit conserver ses habits de frere qu'il étoit
oblige de rendre; mais le scandale que donna sa conduite decida
le maitre de pension de voyron a le placer dans un college

I learned from Massis that you arrived at 8 o'clock in Marseillole in good health, which makes me believe that at 3 o'clock you were back home, very happy to be back in your meadow, and I very sad to have seen you leave so quickly.
According to what my brother tells me, you must not have found your mulberry trees very advanced. I hope you will have arrived in time to put green leaves [feed the silkworms?] and that everything will go well.
I found myself debited 500 francs that I owed him for Annonay, Mr. de Bonfoureu will be his advice from here [?] to clear [?] your account of the column of the [?] following what he will have said to him [?].
To oblige a boarding school master from here, I am giving you herewith a draft of 118 francs, protested, amounting with the costs of protest and return charges to 128 francs.
This draft was drawn on Chataneon Jr., who was a teacher in Crémieu, which he left before the presentation of this draft, saying he was going to Annonay. Do me the favor of presenting this draft to Chataneon Jr. and if he does not pay, try to make his father pay, or at least have him accept this draft to pay at the earliest possible maturity. He lives near the brothers' school in Annonay.
This young Chataneon was a brother here of the Christian school. He grew tired of this profession and attached himself, without saying anything to his superiors, to a boarding school here to teach writing. That was all about it. The boarding school master advanced him money to buy clothes, since he could not keep his brother's clothes, which he was obliged to return. But the scandal caused by his conduct decided the boarding school master of Voiron to place him in a college
