j'ai adressé au maître de valamas, mon cher
fils, l'effet que contenoit ta lettre du 10 avril, avec toutes
les recommendations pour en obtenir le paiement
et le renvoyer sans frais, en cas contraire -
le courrier d'hier a porté à notre jeune gérant les
deux actes de naissance, se ses, enfants après avoir
été légatisés. -
Le jeune homme portant cette lettre à mon
fils, ne serait qu'après son départ pour olivet,
j'avais adressé à M. le président les pièces
dont il désirait la légalisation, mais il me dit
que M. colonjon s'était chargé de ce soin,
s'il n'aput y parvenir, je ne vois qu'un
acte de notoriété pour suppléer l'irrégularité
intervenue dans le registre, en le rattachant
pour la dictée romain pour rama -
je désire que le mieux qu'éprouve Elisabeth
se soutienne et espère bien que tu me
l'apprendras

Annonay, 12 April 1839

My dear son, I sent the bill enclosed in your letter of 10 April to the official at Valamas, with every recommendation that payment be obtained; if it is not paid, it is to be returned without expense.

Yesterday's courier carried the two children's birth certificates to our young manager after they had been legalized.

The young man carrying this letter to my son arrived only after his departure for Olivet. I had sent the documents requiring legalization to the president, but he tells me that Mr Colonjon had undertaken the task. If he cannot succeed, I see no remedy other than an affidavit to correct the irregularity in the register. [The precise wording of the registry correction is indistinct.]

I hope that Elisabeth's improvement will hold and trust that you will tell me so.

Until yesterday I had not left the house; yesterday I went for a carriage ride to Olivet.
