ta lettre du 27 8.bre que j'ai trouvé en arrivant
ici, de retour de la toussaint, m'a confirmée, mon
cher ami, des bonnes nouvelles, que tu donnois
a ma femme dans celle que tu lui a adressé
a genovas, avec les provisions qu'elle t'avoit
demandé. nous avons appris avec plaisir
qu'elle pourroit rentrer bientot a son
couvent; tu etois mieux aussi, on nous
l'avoit dit a murataud, ou nous nous
faisions une fete de t'ambrasser mais
tes occupations ne te permirent pas
de t'absenter ni a Charles qui etoit
retenu par un mal a la jambe,
temoigne lui en mes vifs regrets,
ainsi qu'au cher cousin de madaillan.
Je me felicite d'avoir tourmenté vincent
pour l'aquisition de ce moulin, j'y voyois
tant de convenance et surtout tant d'avantage
de n'etre plus exposé a des tracasseries, aux
frais de proces qui pouvoient se renouveller
chaque jour. Enfin le voila proprietaire
son acte est passé et chaque jour il
pourra s'en convaincre d'avantage, combien
cette acquisition lui est avantageuse

Your letter of October 27, which I found upon arriving here, returning from the All Saints' Day visit, confirmed to me, my dear friend, the good news that you gave to my wife in the one you addressed to her at Genovas, along with the provisions she had asked you for. We learned with pleasure that she could soon return to her convent; you were better too, we were told at Murataud, where we were looking forward to embracing you, but your occupations did not allow you to be absent, nor Charles who was held back by a leg ailment, convey my deep regrets to him; as well as to dear Cousin de Madaillan.
I congratulate myself for having tormented Vincent for the acquisition of this mill, I saw so much convenience in it and above all so much advantage to no longer be exposed to the harassments, to the costs of lawsuits which could be renewed every day. Finally, here he is the owner, his deed is signed and every day he will be able to convince himself more of how advantageous this acquisition is to him.
