Comme je te l'avais annoncé avant hier françois est parti
hier mardy par les messageries françaises à 10 heures du soir il
doit arriver à Neuve ce soir un peu tard et compte partir
le lendemain s'il trouve un bateau à vapeur il arrivera presque
huit jours trop tot, il m'a bien recommandé en partant de vous dire
bien des choses de sa part. il vous écrira le plus tôt possible et [illegible, obscured by seal] 
donnera son adresse que je vous prie de me transmettre sitôt qu['il / que]
la saurez. Charles Duret se porte tout a fait bien il ne se ressent
plus de mal de dent depuis qu'il s'est fait arracher celle qui le fatiguait
J'ai defait la caisse que vous m'avez envoyée, je vous remercie bien
les souliers me vont très bien.

My very dear Father,

As I announced to you the day before yesterday, François left
yesterday, Tuesday, by the French stagecoaches at 10 o'clock in the evening. He
is due to arrive in Neuve this evening, a little late, and intends to leave
the next day if he finds a steamboat. He will arrive almost
eight days too early. He highly recommended to me upon leaving to tell you
many things on his behalf. He will write to you as soon as possible and [illegible, obscured by seal]
will give his address, which I pray you to transmit to me as soon as [he / you]
know it. Charles Duret is doing quite well; he no longer feels
any toothache since he had the one pulled that was bothering him.
I unpacked the box you sent me; I thank you very much.
The shoes fit me very well.
