Je m'empresse de vous faire parvenir la lettre de vincent
qui vient d'arriver par la poste je pense que Louis Desgrand
qui doit arriver ces jours-cy m'en apportera d'autres que je
vous ferai passer de suite. vincent parait toujours bien portant
et bien content, dans la lettre qu'il m'écrit il me parle beaucoup
de l'espoir qu'il a d'entrer dans la maison Desgrand ça serait
je crois bien avantageux pour lui et en même tems b[hole]
agréable po[hole] nous deux d'être ensemble. il ne me dit rien
autre qui puisse vous interesser c'est pour ça que je ne vous
ai pas envoyé sa lettre. j'espère recevoir les premiers jours de
la semaine de tes nouvelles ainsi que le résultat du tirage
je pense qu'un des cousins aura bien eu la complaisance
de tirer pour moi

My very dear Father
I hasten to forward to you the letter from Vincent
which has just arrived by post I think that Louis Desgrand
who is due to arrive these days will bring me others that I
will pass on to you immediately. Vincent still seems well
and very happy, in the letter he writes to me he speaks a lot
of the hope he has of entering the Desgrand house that would be
I think very advantageous for him and at the same time v[hole]
pleasant fo[hole] both of us to be together. he tells me nothing
else that could interest you that is why I have not
sent you his letter. I hope to receive in the first days of
the week news from you as well as the result of the draw
I think that one of the cousins will have had the kindness
to draw for me
Farewell my very dear father I kiss you very strongly
