J'écrivois il y a quelques jours à ma soeur, je
pense qu'elle a reçu ma lettre et que sous
peu, j'en recevrai une de vous qui m'annoncera
que vous continuez a bien vous porter et que ma
bonne petite soeur ne ressent plus de ses maux
de tete voici le printempt, il faut espérer qu'il
lui fera du bien je le lui souhaite, ainsi qu'a
vous. J'espère que mon père a achevé ses écritures
et est un peu moins accuppé que la dernière fois qu'il
m'écrivit
J'ai reçu il y a quelques jours une lettre de
Vincent que Monsieur Pass avoit apporté jusqu'à
Lyon il paroit qu'elle s'est croisé avec celle
que je lui ai écris quelques jours auparavant
J'en ai égallement reçu une de Victor, je leur
ai repondu immédiatement
Depuis une quinzaine de jours le tempt
s'est tourné au froid, et nous avons eu 8 ou
10 degrès dans notre fort, je crains qu'ils ne
se soient fais ressentir chez nous et aient fait

I wrote a few days ago to my sister, I
think she received my letter and that
shortly I will receive one from you announcing
that you continue to be well and that my
good little sister no longer feels her headaches

you. I hope my father has finished his writing
and is a little less busy than the last time he
wrote me.
I received a few days ago a letter from
Vincent that Mr. Pass had brought as far as
Lyon it seems it crossed with the one
that I wrote him a few days before
I also received one from Victor, I answered
them immediately.
For about fifteen days the weather
has turned cold, and we had 8 or
10 degrees in our fort, I fear that they

continue a bien se porter, je n'ai pas reçu
de nouvelles depuis longtems.

carnaval, pour moi il faut que je sache qu'il
commence au 6 janvier et finis cette année le
3 mars pour savoir que j'y suis. On nous annonce
de belles mascarades ici pour cette année le mardi
gras nous avons à l'école de cavalerie plus de
150 jeunes officiers qui se déguise presque tous

Mon capitaine voyant que je vous écris, me prie
de vous demander quelques où en est la faillite
Doyon, il a des fonds (10000 ou 60000 f) venus
à grenoble chez Monsieur Durand. c'est ce qui fait
que ca l'interesse c'est un vieil Anglais dans
la force du terme et avare! autant que possible
Il a 25000 francs de rentes et a dépensé pour
10 sols de bois cet hiver, il se nourit de coquilles
de noix.
