Vincent m'écrit qu'il a vu Mme Maniquet et son fils; ils sont restés deux jours auprès d'eux. Le mariage est arrêté pour le 30 de ce mois. Mme Vincent et Laure sont déjà parties hier pour Lyon, où elles vont faire les emplettes de noces, de sorte que je n'aurai pas la visite de Vincent et de son futur gendre, comme ils me l'avaient fait espérer. L'époque si rapprochée du mariage ne permettra pas à ces dames de faire un long séjour à Lyon; elles ont trop besoin de rentrer à Annonay pour les préparatifs à faire.

Il n'est pas présumable que je puisse me rendre à la noce; ce sera donc mon fils qui y sera.

M. Maniquet et sa mère doivent aller à Lyon joindre Mme Vincent et sa fille.

Tournon, 10 April 1839

Vincent writes that he has seen Madame Maniquet and her son; they stayed with them for two days. The wedding is fixed for the 30th of this month. Madame Vincent and Laure left yesterday for Lyon to make the wedding purchases, so I shall not receive the visit from Vincent and his future son-in-law that they had led me to expect. Because the wedding is so near, the ladies cannot remain long in Lyon; they very much need to return to Annonay to make the preparations.

It is unlikely that I can attend the wedding; my son will therefore be there.

Mr Maniquet and his mother are to go to Lyon to join Madame Vincent and her daughter.
