j'avois ecrit a francois et prie m.e [v.ve?] Fromet de
lui remettre une lettre, il me repond sous la date
du 29. qu'il l'a fait et que ton fils va beaucoup
mieux.
j'ai aussi ecrit vendredi d.r a M. Boissy
pour le prier de faire delivrer a francois un
congé de 6 mois et de vouloir bien recommander
au medecin en chef du val de grace, de ne
délivrer a francois l'autorisation de sortie et
de depart, qu'autant qu'il n'y auroit aucune
espece de danger a faire le voyage. j'e pense
que tu a fait partir [nom peu clair] pour aller
chercher son frere et si comme vous l'a dit
M. [Giraud?] il est asés bien pour se mettre
en route, vous ne tarderes pas a le voir.
j'ai recu les deux bouteilles biere,
que m'avoit annonce M. Desgaches, et
qui sans doute etoient restées quelques part.
je te prie de lui dire de m'en preparer
une caisse de 25 à 30 bouteilles, pour
Senovert je la ferai prendre vers la fin
de cette semaine par un de mes grangers
ou voisins. je renverrai la caisse vide,
dans le c.t de la semaine d'apres.

Tournon, June 3, 1839

I had written to François and asked Madame [widow?] Fromet to
deliver a letter to him; he answers me under the date
of the 29th that he has done so and that your son is doing much
better.
I also wrote last Friday to Mr. Boissy
to ask him to have a 6-month leave issued
to François and to be so kind as to recommend
to the head doctor of the Val-de-Grâce not to
issue François the authorization to leave and
depart unless there would be no
sort of danger in making the journey. I think
that you had the [name unclear] leave to go
and get his brother and if, as
Mr. [Giraud?] told you, he is well enough to set
out, you will not delay in seeing him.
I received the two bottles of beer
that Mr. Desgaches had announced to me, and
which undoubtedly had been left somewhere.
I ask you to tell him to prepare for me
a case of 25 to 30 bottles, for
Senovert; I will have it picked up towards the end
of this week by one of my tenant farmers
or neighbors. I will return the empty case
in the course of the following week.
