depuis ta dernière, mon cher j.n m.ie, j'ai Reçu la
caisse de chandelles et bougies, dont M.r V. Chapuis
m'a Remis facture m.tant à 46 . 50 que je te prie
faire payer par le débit de m.r chés D. & C.
que j'en crédite.
Tu me fais part de ton voyage à voiron, vincent
m'annonce aussi qu'il doit aller pour
le 15. c.t avec vous, je voudrais bien pouvoir
m'y trouver à cette Réunion, c'est une grande
privation pour moi et un bonheur que je
vous envie.
je n'ai pas eu encore de Réponse à la lettre
que j'ai écrit à M. Boissy d'anglas, pour
le prier d'appuyer auprés du Colonel de
françois la présentation de son Capit.ne pour
le grade de sergent major. je ne doute pas
qu'il le fasse avec beaucoup d'intérêt.
mathieu n'est pas de Retour je pense, ce qui
me prive d'avoir des nouvelles de son frere
Louis, fais moi part de celles qu'on peut
avoir Reçu.
qu'il est pénible de savoir toujours aussi
souffrante ma nièce marianne, continue
mon cher ami, à me donner de ses nouvelles
et fais nos tendres amitiés à tous.
nous allons bien. mes maux de dents durent
moins, mais sont plus Repetés, ils viennent comme
un coup et passent de même.

Tournon, April 3, 1840

Since your last, my dear J[ea]n M[ar]ie, I have received the case of tallow and wax candles, of which Mr. V. Chapuis handed me the invoice amounting to 46.50 which I ask you to have paid by the debit of Mr. at D. & Co. whom I credit for it.
You inform me of your trip to Voiron, Vincent also announces to me that he is to go for the 15th inst. with you, I would very much like to be able to be there at this gathering, it is a great privation for me and a happiness that I envy you.
I have not yet had an answer to the letter that I wrote to Mr. Boissy d'Anglas, to ask him to support with François's Colonel the presentation of his Captain for the rank of sergeant major. I do not doubt that he will do it with much interest.
Mathieu is not back I think, which deprives me of having news of his brother Louis, share with me those that one might have received.
How painful it is to know always so suffering my niece Marianne, continue my dear friend, to give me her news and give our tender regards to all.
We are well. My toothaches last less, but are more repeated, they come like a blow and pass likewise.
