Una favorevole occasione mi giunge di nuovo, che jeri
mentre il Sig.r Domenico conduceva a Cajello la sua sorella
coll'istesso mezzo, e col consiglio dei Sig.ri Cremonini, mi
[deleted: portava co] mi recava coll'Antonietta ad Arona, dove, mi
trovo benissimo in compagnia della nipote, e cognato del
sullodato Sig.r Domenico, in questi luoghi amenissimi, figu=
rati la vista del lago quei batelli a vapore quelle gondole,

lettera mi porterò a vedre il famoso S. Carlone e
lo saluterò anche per te; Domenica ^[poi] farò di ritorno
a Cajello, e siccome ò scorto nella cara tua 29 scorso che
partecipi con piacere a questo mio soggiorno campestre,
così vorrei approfittarmi di tua bontà per farmi accordare
una prolunga alla quindicina e lasciare che divengano una
ventina di giorni di mia vacanza ne saresti contento?
Sempre però vi sia l'approvazione di tutta la famiglia, perchè
non vorrei stancare tante [deleted: per] compiacentissime persone
che cooperarono a questa mia campagnata; e sempre che
non vi sia qualche bisogno, in famiglia
Onde io possa starmene tranquilla, ed in ogni modo fà
di scrivermi presto cioè almeno per Domenica possa arrivare
a Cajello e ricevere una tua lettera, e da quella farò
quanto mi dici.

Dearest Husband!

Arona, 4 July 1861.

A favourable opportunity presents itself to me again: yesterday, while Mr Domenico was taking his sister to Cajello by the same means, and with the advice of Messrs Cremonini, [deleted wording] I travelled with Antonietta to Arona, where I am very well in the company of the niece and brother-in-law of the aforementioned Mr Domenico, in these most delightful places. Imagine the view of the lake, those steamboats, those gondolas. While I go to post this letter, I shall go to see the famous San Carlone and I shall greet him for you too. On Sunday, then, I shall return to Cajello; and since I perceived from your dear letter of the 29th of last month that you take pleasure in this country stay of mine, I would like to avail myself of your kindness and have an extension to the fortnight granted to me, letting my holiday become twenty days. Would you be happy with that?
Always, however, provided that the whole family approves, because I would not want to weary so many most obliging people who helped with this country stay of mine, and provided there is no need in the family, so that I can remain at ease. In any case, make sure to write to me soon, so that at least by Sunday a letter from you may arrive at Cajello; from it I shall do what you tell me.

Today you will have repeated to Rachele that Regina is in Cajello; instead I am in Arona, as you will learn from the letter written here to Gaetano.
I thank you for the care you took in giving me news of the family, which I desired so much, and in forwarding to me the great letter from my Peppino, upon which I placed a hundred kisses. Now I beg you to write me a few lines yourself, saying whether I can remain here calmly for another week; otherwise I shall return at once and very willingly to Milan. Forgive my indiscretion if, in addition to your many occupations, you must also continue to watch over my Peppino and my house.
Receive many greetings from the Cremoninis and their relatives, in whose house I am staying at present. Give many greetings to my Mamma, Papà, Giuditta, Teresa, Carlino, S. Antonio and Carolina, my Tony, Giulin[?], and so on—in short, all the relatives and friends; and, even more, receive a sincere embrace.

P.S. My health continues to be good.
