Prevedeva benissimo che la gita che avevate contato di far=
=ne qui a Soresina p[er] le scorse feste sarebbe stata diferita
ad un altra Epoca, poichè era impossibile che la
buona Linda fosse stata così presto in grado di far
viaggio; con tutto ciò ne ringrazio ben di cuore Iddio,
che Essa vada continuamente a rimettersi nel suo pri=
=miero stato di salute, e a tal uopo continuo a pre=
=gare il Medesimo; Ella però abbia tutti i riguardi
immaginabili; poichè il carattere di tal malatia
lo esige; e poi ancora se vuol rendere compito il
mio contento, vedendola le farai un saluto p[er] me, come
il tuo cuore affettuoso p[er] lei ti suggerisce.
Io prima d'ora ti avrei scritto, essendo che era anche
in debito d'una tua, ma siccome il tempo della S.ta
Quaresima è p[er] noi di maggior occupazioni di Eser=
=cizj Spirituali; e p[er]ciò diferito aveva di farlo più
tardi; del resto di salute grazia a Dio sto bene, e
godo che tale sia ancora la tua.
Se bene io non abbia potuto precedere la tua gita dal=
=le mie car.me Sorelle d'Alzano sono però persuasa

My dearest Sister
From our Monastery of Soresina
30 March 1856

I foresaw very well that the trip you had planned to make
here to Soresina for the past holidays would be postponed
to another time, since it was impossible that the
good Linda would be able to travel so soon;
despite all this, I thank God with all my heart,
that she is continuously recovering to her former
state of health, and for this purpose I continue to pray
to Him; however, she should take all imaginable
precautions, because the nature of this illness
requires it; and then again, if she wants to make my
happiness complete, upon seeing her you will give her a greeting for me, as
your affectionate heart for her suggests to you.
I would have written to you earlier, since I was also
in debt for one of yours, but since the time of Holy
Lent brings us greater occupation with Spiritual
Exercises, I therefore postponed doing it
until later; otherwise, thank God, I am well, and
I rejoice that you are too.
Even though I could not precede your trip to
my dearest Sisters of Alzano, I am nevertheless persuaded
