Gentilissima Signora!
Sperava sì che la convalescenza della nostra
carissima Sorella Teresa Giuseppa, avesse ad essere buona, ma così
buona poi, progressiva, e perseverante come addimostrasi gior=
=nalmente, il mio cuore limitavasi a desiderargliela e ad invocarla
tale dal Cielo. Questo frattanto ascoltò benigno i nostri voti;
ed ecco che la nostra amatissima ammalata, ne assicura ella stessa,
di sentirsi così bene, da riconoscere nel suo miglioramento un
vero Dono del Signore. Oh! sia Egli dunque mille volte benedetto,
il nro Buon Dio, che pare non sappia affliggere prima, che per con=
=solare dappoi; ed ai ringraziamenti che gli porge tutta la Co=
=munità, a cui tanto stava a cuore la guarigione di Sua Teresa
Giuseppa, uniscansi quelli della Sua degna Famiglia, alla quale,
prego Ella, Ottima Signora, partecipare queste consolanti notizie.
Il Sig.r nro Medico ha già permesso alla nra cara convalescente
di masticare qualche cosa, e di passare fuor del letto alcune ore,
il che le serve benissimo a godere poi d'un tranquillo sonno
durante la notte. [flourish]

Most Kind Lady!
I had hoped that the convalescence of our
dearest Sister Teresa Giuseppa would be good, but so
good, steady, and sustained as it is proving day by day,
my heart had only dared to desire it for her and to ask Heaven for it.
Heaven, meanwhile, graciously heard our prayers; and now our dearly
beloved patient herself assures us that she feels so well that in her
improvement she recognizes a true Gift from the Lord. Oh! may He,
our Good God, be blessed a thousand times: He seems to afflict only
in order to console afterward. To the thanks offered to Him by the whole
Community, which cared so deeply about the recovery of your Teresa
Giuseppa, may those of her worthy Family be joined. I beg you,
Most Excellent Lady, to share this comforting news with them.
Our Doctor has already allowed our dear convalescent
to eat a little and to spend several hours out of bed,
which helps her to enjoy peaceful sleep
through the night. [flourish]

non prendasi alcuna pena la S. V., perchè dovendo effettuarsi in
questo stesso paese, anzi in altro Vicolo, quest'è attiguo a quello
che abitiamo presentemente, ciò non porterà alcun ostacolo
o ritardo, alla comunicazione delle notizie della nra S. Teresa
Giuseppa, la quale conto di procurarle presto ella stessa, col
mezzo di scriver loro. Gradiscano frattanto dalla medesima
mille cordialità tutti i Suoi Cari; ma specialmente l'ottimo
Suo Sig.r Padre, ed il Fratello M. R.do P.re Barnabita, verso di cui
sentesi parzialmente riconoscente, per le preghiere fatte, e per
la cara lettera indirizzatale.
Non posso finire, Pregiatiss.ma Signora, senza reiterarle la sin=
=cera espressione di que' sentimenti di perfetta stima con cui
ho la compiacenza di dichiararmi nel Divin Cuore di Gesù,

noto alla sua Famiglia, come abbia avuto dieci Salassi; e noi
che glielo tenemmo celato quando essendo ancora in corso la
malattia, poteva giustamente allarmarli, non temiamo di
dirglielo ora; che cessato ogni pericolo, puossi godere al=
=trettanto del ristabilimento della medesima --

Your Ladyship need not worry, because our move is to take place in
this same town, indeed in another lane adjoining the one
we occupy at present; this will cause no obstacle
or delay in communicating news of our Sister Teresa
Giuseppa, which I expect that she herself will soon provide by
writing to them. Meanwhile may all her Dear Ones accept
a thousand affectionate greetings from her, especially her excellent
Father and her Brother, the Very Reverend Barnabite Father, toward whom
she feels particularly grateful for the prayers offered and for
the dear letter addressed to her.
I cannot finish, Most Esteemed Lady, without repeating the sincere
expression of those feelings of perfect esteem with which
I have the pleasure of declaring myself, in the Divine Heart of Jesus,

tell them now; since every danger has passed, they may rejoice all
the more in her recovery --
