Ti ringrazio dei segni d'estimazione nell'ultima tua a mio
riguardo, ed ancora delle buone nuove che mi desti di tutta
la famiglia, ma doppiamente ne godo del tuo perfetto ris=
=tabilimento di salute, non chè quello del caro mio
Papà; benchè legiermente incomodato, come rilevai nella
tua; di tutto ne sia il buon Dio infinitamente rin=
=graziato, e piaccia al medesimo di sempre così conser=
=varvi; e se sarà ancora sua volontà che presto ci ri=
=vediamo, il mio contento eguaglierà il vostro.
Sì, mia buona Linda, nel mio ritiro che precedeva le scor=
=se S.S. Feste, non ho mancato di caldamente prega=
=re il Divino Spirito per tutti; affinchè con tutta la
sua pienezza di grazie venisse in noi a occuparci
perfettamente, per non essere meritevoli che di Lui solo,
e dei suoi benefizi per corrisponderli !! per tanto alle tue

I thank you for the signs of esteem in your last letter in my
regard, and also for the good news you gave me of all
the family, and I rejoice doubly at your perfect re=
=covery of health, as well as that of my dear
Papa; although slightly indisposed, as I noted in
yours; for everything may the good God be infinitely
thanked, and may it please Him to always thus pre=
=serve you; and if it still be His will that we soon
see each other again, my happiness will equal yours.
Yes, my good Linda, in my retreat that preceded the past
Most Holy Holidays, I did not fail to warmly pray
to the Divine Spirit for everyone; so that with all His
fullness of grace He might come into us to occupy us
perfectly, to not be worthy except of Him alone,
and of His benefits to reciprocate them!! therefore to your
prayers I commend myself, since Alas! I have a
true need of them; and in my wretchedness, gratitude
and thankfulness oblige me doubly to keep
in It a distinct place for you, and Papa Giovanni.

Cappuccini con due altri P. Esso gentilmente mi por=
=tò buone nuove del n/o P. Antonio, essendo che lo co=
=nobbe molto d'avvicino, e mi diedero ancora quelle della
mia S. M. Fedele; ha pure da conoscervi mentre mene
parlò anche della famiglia &...
Scrivendo al fratello Angiolo, gli contraccambierai i sa=
=luti, assicuragli che io prego per la sua vera felicità; la
quale non consiste nel fasto, ma ben si nelle azioni
sante, ed onorate; e noi preghiamo per lui, e per tutti
i miei fratelli la mia Mamma buona Maria, affin=
=chè Essi si distinguano ancora in Moralità.
Ti prego di tanti doveri a Papà da parte ancora
della Rev.ma mia Madre da estendersi a tutta la

Yesterday I had a visit from the Most Reverend Father Provincial of the
Capuchins with two other Fathers. He kindly brought
me good news of our Father Antonio, since he
knew him very closely, and they also gave me those of
my Sister Maria Fedele; he must also know you since he
spoke to me also of the family etc...
Writing to brother Angiolo, you will reciprocate his greetings,
assure him that I pray for his true happiness; which
does not consist in pomp, but rather in holy
and honorable actions; and we pray for him, and for all
my brothers to my good Mother Mary, so
that they may still distinguish themselves in Morality.
I beg you [to give] many respects to Papa also on behalf
of my Most Reverend Mother to be extended to all the
family, and you in particular receive the as=
=surance of my sincere affection while
in the Most Holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary I move to call myself
