Vignoli to Samuele Finzi, 9 October 1862

Vignoli confirms that earlier goatskins were sent to other customers and offers to send the three dozen ordered, accepting their return if unsatisfactory. A postscript asks about a buyer for shoes offered in settlement by a local shoemaker.

Mr Samuel B.o Finzi, Ferrara.
Forlì, 9 October 1862.
I have received your kind letter of the 6th of this month. In accordance with it, we have finished the other goatskins: those I had offered to send you, and which you stopped me from sending, were sent to other friends. I shall gladly send you the three dozen you ordered, with which you will be fully satisfied. If not, I have no difficulty in accepting their return. This is for your information; hoping for further orders from you, I send you my warm greetings.
P.S. I take this opportunity to tell you that I am owed money by a shoemaker here. He says he cannot pay me because he was unable to attend his usual fairs, and would therefore be willing to give me an assortment of shoes. I should like to know, my friend, whether anyone there might be interested in this line of goods, or whether you could take it up yourself. If so, I could send you samples of the various qualities. They are very well made. Please excuse the trouble and this ill-timed letter. Kindly send me a reply on the matter. Once again, I send you my greetings.
For the firm Vignoli
G. Vignoli
