Notes

The incoming letter has no dateline. Its date is inferred from the dispatch mark and filing date; the draft reply dates are separate evidence.
½ purga refers to a partial stage of leather bating. The source does not define its exact degree. £ reproduces the currency glyph; ℔ marks pounds of weight. % is rendered per hundred without assigning a further unit or converting prices.
The word under the oval stamp after di ieri del remains uncertain; Brondaz and the alternative date reading 29 c.te have been compared with the native strokes.

English translation

I am replying to your kind letters of the 25th and 28th of this month. Concerning the first, I shall let you know as soon as Mr Pietro Mondi comes to pay me £27.55. I delivered your letter to Galleppi, and I shall be sure to credit your account.

As to yesterday’s letter concerning [...], I have none so heavy. I could offer just one bale of very fine local hides, weighing about 140 pounds, at only £31 per hundred. I also have partially bated leather in bales of 160 pounds, at only £27.50 per hundred; these too are all local hides.

I await your orders and offer my respects with the greatest esteem.
Cesare Monari

P.S. If you would like light leather from me, I can now let you have it at only £31 per hundred, like that mentioned above.
