Notes

Corametti is rendered as small leather hides, from corame (leather); no animal species is stated. Lexical support: https://www.treccani.it/vocabolario/corame/.
The manuscript gives 12 pounds each, then 18 to 20 followed by la 1/2, and finally 22 pounds. The meaning of the 1/2 trade notation is unresolved; no whole-hide or dozen measure is supplied.
The manuscript % signs are rendered as per 100 in the commercial price quotations; the counted or weighed unit is not added. £ reproduces the manuscript currency glyph and does not identify pounds sterling or a modern denomination.
The short opening reference, the qualification after ma su questo le, the sheepskin adjective and the reference after fra i remain genuinely uncertain. English omissions are limited to those spans.
The received notation is read as R.to 1 Gen 1861; the long stroke before the date belongs to R.to, not an extra date digit.

Mr Samuel B.º Finzi, called Magrini
Ferrara
Bologna, 31 December 1860
I reply to your letter [...] of the 27th of this month, in which you say that you would take the small black leather hides weighing 12 pounds each, provided they were processed here. But on that point [...]. They were first processed in Romagna, and on the said 27th I sold them to someone from Forlì. I could put together one or two bales of selected quality, at 18 to 20 pounds per ½, but the price is £25:75 per 100. If you take those weighing 22 pounds, I can offer £25:50. I can let you have the [...] sheepskins from Faenza at only £33:50 per 100, as I previously quoted to you among the [...] of the very light skins.
That is what I had to tell you. If this suits you, I await your orders. With my usual esteem, I send you my respects.
Cesare Monari
