I confirm my letter of 16 March last and ask you not to leave me without your valued orders. As I need to remit funds to Mr Giuseppe Forlani del Ponte, please arrange for him to receive about £30 to 40 on my account, obtaining a receipt for me and letting me know so that I can credit [it?]. There is still the usual talk about fresh skins, but nothing definite. If anything important happens, I shall make it my duty to inform you. I remain ready to fulfil your orders and send you my respectful greetings.

Notes

The recipient draft is dated 11 April without a written year. The inserted m’ordinate belongs after Come, and the inserted £40 supplies the amount in the first sentence; neither is a separate heading.
The proposed commodity designation Saloneco and the quantity abbreviations S.chi, Pi and Mis.o remain uncertain. No commodity origin, modern weight conversion or identified shipping service is supplied. Ferraresi is retained as the source unit qualifier.
The final draft sentence contains uncertain Macellami, taccano and a short phrase before che. The proposed English are quiet and seems remain bracketed; the buyer reference and Smania of last month are readable. Three illegible cancellations are preserved.
The incoming remittance instruction reads p accreditarme[ne?]. The final pronoun is tentative; the purpose is an account credit, without supplying an unstated account holder.
£ reproduces the manuscript currency glyph, without identifying a modern denomination or pounds sterling.

11 April
As you instruct in your letter of the [7th?] of this month, I shall deliver £40 to Mr Giuseppe Forlani, which you will credit to my account. To assess its quality as flour, I am sending you 6 [S.chi?] of [Saloneco?] by the boat, weighing 1583 [Pi?] Ferraresi. Please have it milled [deleted: ...] separately and returned to me as flour.
I have a consignment of the same goods in the finest quality, of which I shall send you 12 to 15 [Mis.o?] by the same means.
Here too, the [Macellami?] [are quiet?], and it [seems?] that the buyers no longer have [deleted: ...] [deleted: ...] the frenzy of last month. We shall see what happens.
