Notes

The darker lower text is a separate reply draft with cancellations and insertions. Its broken passages remain short local gaps; they have not been turned into invented continuous commercial terms. The uncertain commodity Tanniccio[?] and incoming word Inteni[?] are retained in Italian, without a certain English meaning.
The draft price 18½ retains an unidentified currency/rate unit. The 5 per cent deduction is attached to weighing; sottile is translated literally as fine weight, without identifying or converting a historical weight standard. Native come praticasi con altri and the separate lower verb asciugare replace the former communication/allocate readings. D. is retained unexpanded.
