TO CESARE MONARI
Dealer in hides, near the Caffè da S. Pietro.
For the following goods sold to him and handed to the carrier Tura.
Payable [no term entered].
BOLOGNA, 7 June 1862.
10 black hides, 197 [pounds] — rate ₤ 24:50; amount ₤ 48:26:5.
This is all that remains to me on commission. The aforementioned hides are the lightest that I have been able to obtain. I could offer you about 20 small black hides of extra-quality skin, weighing 10 to 12 pounds apiece, and I can let you have them at just ₤ 24 [uncertain abbreviation].
That is what I have to tell you; [illegible] your orders. With all esteem I remain yours,
Cesare Monari.
P.S. I have just received your letter of yesterday. At present [Coratti?] throughout [illegible] completely without supplies; if I [illegible] large work, as soon as I know [illegible]. [Illegible]. Once again I send you my greetings,
C. Monari.
