Cesare Monari,
dealer in hides, near the Caffè da S. Pietro,
for the following goods sold to him and handed to the railway for slow freight.
Bologna, 12 October 1862.
A.G. No.18: case containing
6 dozen calfskin hides, black, [illegible], 119¼[?] [pounds], at [67?] — ₤ 79:95.
40 Tally sheepskins — rate 29; amount 11:60.
Total ₤ 91:55 [uncertain abbreviation].

In reply to your letter of yesterday, tomorrow I shall deliver the aforementioned case to the railway, since I did not reach the slow-freight office in time. I have included only the natural half-hides, as the small case could contain no more. As you see, I have been unable to lower [illegible], and when you see the skins you will agree with me. Do not think that I would dispatch the black hides to you if they were not well [illegible]; the same applies to the weight indicated to me, which in the last consignment received [illegible]. We shall see [illegible] in the one that I shall [illegible] in 8 or 10 days. Meanwhile I hope to hear that you are satisfied with this shipment.
With my customary esteem I remain yours,
Cesare Monari.
