Cesare Monari,
dealer in hides, near the Caffè da S. Pietro,
for the following goods sold to him and handed to the carrier Tura.
Bologna, 29 May 1861.
80 Tally sheepskins, [4/a?] from France and 1/a from Imola — rate 32 bajocchi; amount ₤ 25:60.

In reply to your esteemed letter of yesterday, with the enclosed [illegible], [illegible] towards settlement of the two invoices of the 18th and 24th of this month: instead of the 5 half [illegible] mentioned, equal to those sent to you, there were only 4. I have therefore included another 4, which seem to me to be fuller skins than those mentioned. I hope you will be satisfied with this shipment. As for the small black hides of [illegible] skin, I can have them made [illegible] at the cost of ₤ 23 [uncertain unit], if you allow me 8 or 10 days [illegible] to prepare them.
Awaiting your reply, with my customary esteem I remain yours,
Cesare Monari.
