me demande.
separé que tu peux faire si tu en as besoin puisque tu as ma promesse

Voiron, 7 February 1839
Monsieur Jn Mᵉ Frachon, in Annonay
I enclose herewith Eugène Canson's current account that you asked me for. I settled it up to 31 December last according to your wishes; it shows 1,094 francs 54 centimes in my favor.
I do not include on this account the amount of my promissory note to Eugène nor the interest that I may owe him as of 31 December; that is a separate account that you can make up if you need to, since you have my promissory note in your hands.
I wrote to Eugène; his brother wrote to him; neither he nor I have received any answer.
Thank you for buying boxwood for me; tell me whether it is your account or that of D & C which I should credit for it, and for what sum, since you do not [specify?] it.
See Auguste Mignot; he will indicate a carter to send me this wood. Ask him what he pays per 100 kg from [Arle?] at the lowest carriage rate. Tell him to give me the lowest price for colophony like the second quality he sold me, delivered to Voiron. I might order some from him, and he could ship the wood along with it.
I am doing better today. The weather is superb; I went out for a half-hour walk; for a month I had not left my room.
I had written to Mr. Sapey to ask him to speak to Boissy d'Anglas on François's behalf, and to ask him to recommend him to his Colonel. He spoke to him about it, and Mr. Boissy promised him to recommend him. I wrote to his brother so that if Mr. Boissy comes to Tournon for the elections, he might sharply reproach him for having forgotten François. If I saw him, I would reproach him directly in such a way that he would remember it. But I will keep Mr Sapey on his trail and will certainly force him to fulfill his promises.
Tell me whether people in Annonay think Tavernier will be re-elected deputy, even though he belongs to the coalition. Here, Mr. Sapey will, I believe, be re-elected because he is part of it. I know, however, that there are some voters who will withhold their votes from him; but he will gain others. He will be here from the 15th to the 20th of the current month.

I trust that your daughter continues to improve; please give me news of her often.
For the past eight days we had 8 inches of snow; yesterday and today it has completely melted; our streets are still cluttered with ice.
My wife and my children are well; we all join together to embrace you.
