Voiron, 11 April 1839

My dear friend,

I learn with [word struck through] sadness of my sister's indisposition from your letter of the 10th of this month. I like to believe that by the 25th of this month she will have recovered and that you will do us the kindness of coming to Laure's wedding. I set great store by it, and even if you are [sulking at me?], do not deprive me of this pleasure.

I fear that Montgolfier's distractions may have made him forget to send the birth-certificate extracts I asked you for, and that he [word struck through] may cause delays which would postpone the wedding. Please ascertain whether Montgolfier has sent these two documents to Frachon. Send him a messenger who will bring them back to you if he has not sent them to Frachon.

Farewell; I embrace you and send my greetings.
Frachon Dugas
