Tournon, 31 December 1839
Your letter of the 30th, which I have just received, tells me, my dear Jean Marie, that you are all in good health and that you have good news of our nephews Louis and [Florian?]. Please continue to share the news you receive with me. All my family here are well.
My wife asks me to remind you about her supply of chocolate.
I am expecting a book from Paris. I think [Mʳ Mᵉ?] Fornet will hand it to Mr Julien Mignot. Please ask him for it if he has returned, and take the first opportunity you have to send it to me.
I enclose a draft for 800 francs on the tax collector at Annonay [abbreviation illegible]. Please hand it to him and convey my regards.
When anything is done about the affairs of the house of [Peron?] frères, I would be pleased if you would let me know. They are [end of clause illegible] in this respect.
Vincent went to stay with Mme Maniquet a few days ago. I hope he will not be long in returning home, if he has not already done so.
Our wishes for you all are as fervent and far-reaching as ever. Please convey them to all our relatives, and [believe?] me ever entirely yours.
