Aderendo ben volentieri al desiderio esternatoci colla preg.ma
V/12 corr.te, abbiamo sottratto ad una part.ta già venduta di vacchette
bianche che stiamo ultimando un rotolo per sorte dei due diversi
pesi e della stessa robba che spediamo a codesti Sig.ri Felice Neg-
ri e F.llo, onde effettuarvene, come stamattina abbiamo fatto, l’invio
in collo R. M. N°650 pel mezzo della ferrata a P.V.
Non potendo poi escludere il dubbio che i vitelli cerati che
dite aver da qui ritirati non vi sieno forse piaciuti p[er] mancanza di
perfezione di lavoriero, ci siamo presi la libertà d’unirvi nel succitato
collo un mazzo dei nostri, parendoci impossibile che così pastosi e
fini non abbiano a piacervi.—
Per l’ammontare adunque dei tre sud.ti campioncini vorrete
essere compiacente accreditarci di poche
£244.35 a f/n, come dal conticello appiedi.—
Essendo difficile poter formare i campioni del preciso peso
del monte vi serva che le vacchette bianche gravi sono del peso in monte
di K.mi 21 al p[ez]zo, le leggieri di K.mi 15— i vitelli cerati di K.mi 7 circa.
Quanto ai prezzi sono gli inalterabili che pratichiamo
ineccepibilmente non solo con codesti Sig.ri Negri, ma con tutti in-
distintamente gli amici che ci onorano di loro ricorrenze, compresa la
casa [A.?] e L. Guastalla di Modena, a cui facciamo continue spediz.ni.

Ferrara.
Brescia, 17 August 1864

Gladly complying with the wish expressed in your esteemed letter of the 12th of this month, we have taken from an already sold lot of white cowhides which we are finishing one roll of each of the two different weights, of the same goods that we send to Messrs Felice Negri and Brother in your town, in order to send them to you. We did so this morning in the package R. M. No. 650, by railway, P.V.
As we cannot rule out the possibility that the waxed calfskins which you say you obtained from here may perhaps have displeased you through lack of perfect workmanship, we have taken the liberty of including a bundle of ours in the same package, since it seems impossible to us that skins so supple and fine should fail to please you.
For the amount of the three small samples mentioned above, please therefore credit us with the modest sum of £244.35 in our favour, as shown in the little account below.
Since it is difficult to make the samples match the precise weight of the lot, please note that the heavy white cowhides weigh 21 kilograms per piece in the lot, the lighter ones 15 kilograms, and the waxed calfskins about 7 kilograms.
Our prices are unalterable and are the ones we invariably charge not only to Messrs Negri in your town but to all customers who honour us with their orders, including the firm [A.?] and L. Guastalla of Modena, to which we make continual shipments.
Hoping, therefore, to have the honour of establishing the desired business relationship in future, we remain, with the highest esteem,
