Forlì, 6 August 1852
In reply to yours of the 3rd of this month, it is correct that you have settled the invoices totalling £38, as payment in full for the leather goods dispatched to you through [7?] April last. [Linking word uncertain.] No further reply is needed on this.
I cannot let you have the [Calvette?; term retained] from Fano at £3.70 per bundle. All I can do for you is to let you have them at £3.40, at my warehouse, with the [carriage?] at your expense. Without this I cannot oblige you, since these are goods that I hold on behalf of a friend in Rome. As for the quantity, [short phrase unclear], I send the price. In anticipation, I send you my regards.
G. Vignoli

English translation

In reply to yours of the 6th of this month, I shall accept the coloured sheepskins as you wish, at 34 bajocchi, provided they are delivered to my premises. If you agree to this, send me three bundles, namely two bundles of [red?] and one of [green?]. I also wish to order only four dozen goatskins and four dozen black morocco-finished sheepskins. As regards the first, please make them well worked and light; the sheepskins should be large, with a good sheen [preceding abbreviation: f.to]. I therefore await all the consignments.
