Paris, 9 May 1831.
I have only time to acknowledge receipt of your letter of the 8th.
It is Marcon whom I call the paymaster of Colma[…].
I am writing to my colleague that, in view of his letter, I shall no longer draw on him until he can honour the drafts again, with an allowance of one month.
I do not think I have the letters [Sob…?]; however, I shall look again. My head is quite empty.
As the King is arriving in Rouen on the 16th, I intend to leave here on Friday so as to be there on Saturday morning.
All yours.
[paraph]
Notes
Documentary annotation: a? [underlined] The paper ends within “Colma[…]”. A letter of 7 May names Marcon and payment orders at Colmar. The place can thus be identified as Colmar, although the final letter is lost here. The word after “les lettres” is indistinct.
